| Antje was born and grew up in an enchanting small town on the North Sea. Having lived in many other countries, half her soul is still in Husum, Germany. Union Ridge, North Carolina, became home many years ago, and her many journeys, experiences, and the countryside that surrounds her home, are reflected in her beautiful paintings. | |

After years of decorative painting and teaching, Antje studied with Jill Troutman where she learned to enjoy the freedom of acrylic painting on canvas, giving her an infinite range of expression. Antje has successfully participated in many local exhibitions; her style is her own and her palette recognizable. "Every artist dips his brush in his own soul and paints his own nature into his pictures" Henry Ward Beecher (1813-1887) |

"I love nature and get most of my inspirations from my surroundings and memories of the places I have lived. I am an outdoor person, therefore flowers and landscapes are my favorite subjects. They keep reminding me of how beautiful and fragile our world is; that we cannot take it for granted and need to do our part in taking care of it." |
