Her art is greatly influenced by the many summers spent with her large extended family at her grandparents' farm on the Chesapeake Bay, Maryland. She developed passions for both figurative drawing and for the outdoors ... light, wind, and water ... influences she captures on canvas.

Tracy and her husband Pete have lived in Burlington, NC, since 1984, and Pete and their two daughters, Krista and Colleen are Tracy's mainstay of support and encouragement.

Artist Statement

The subjects I choose are always figurative in nature whether the figure is human, animal or an inanimate form. The flow of line, the value and intensity of colors that make a figure come to life, the play of lights and darks that either add drama or calmness to a painting, are all fleeting. I paint in the attempt to "get down" these things that speak to me. A painting is successful for me when it captures the essence of what first inspired me to paint it. If it says something to the viewer? – Fabulous!
